Invisalign is a set of clear braces that allows you to quickly and easily achieve the smile you’ve always dreamed of. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology for predicting tooth movement, we can produce a customized splint set for you: one splint for each phase of tooth movement. You wear these splints between 20 and 22 hours a day. You only take them out when eating and brushing your teeth. Depending on the individual case, results are already visible after 6 to 18 months.

Invisalign is a clear dental brace, popularly known as aligner or invisible braces, which have marked a “renaissance” in the process of straightening teeth in recent years. This revolutionary product is fitted like a fixed orthodontic brace.
While braces used to be primarily intended for children, more and more adults are now using them to correct misaligned teeth. Invisalign, as the world’s most recognized brand, has perfectly combined several critical characteristics of orthodontic therapy: invisibility, simplicity and effectiveness.
The splints are made of durable, transparent plastic (medical polyurethane), which is made very precisely and of course individually for each patient according to a specific treatment plan. After examining the patient, it must be determined whether the person is an ideal candidate for this type of therapy. If there are no obstructions, an accurate impression of the teeth is taken and used to create the splints.
Invisalign ® uses a series of clear braces (removable splints) to gently position teeth over an average period of twelve to eighteen months. The procedure begins with the creation of a three-dimensional image of the tooth using state-of-the-art technology and a digital scanning system.
This is of crucial importance, because every mouth is different. As such, each Invisalign® treatment plan must be different to work properly. The 3D image helps us create your customized Invisalign ® treatment plan.
Step by step: Invisalign therapy

3D Computerscan
As soon as the patient and orthodontist agree and it has been determined that transparent braces are a suitable type of orthodontic therapy for the specific case, a 3D computer scan of the current condition of your teeth and jaw is created.

Therapy plan and program
In a second step, a treatment plan and program are developed based on the Invisalign brand ClinCheck program, which has a basis of more than 5 million simulations of a wide variety of smiles.
This gives the patient the opportunity to visualize his or her future smile. After 10 to 15 days, a treatment plan or a digital overview is created showing the future position of the teeth. After a 3D digital scan and any anomalies to be corrected, the orthodontist designs an individual treatment plan, planning every movement of the teeth to achieve the ideal smile.

Creation of the splints
If the patient has no objections to the appearance of his or her future smile, a splint or foil will be made within approximately 20 days. Each splint needs to be changed every two weeks to allow teeth to move and straighten as planned. Any splint already in use has served its purpose when the intended displacement has been achieved.
The patient is provided with a certain number of Invisalign splints/foils, ten to thirty depending on the type of therapy, which are changed every 15 days on average. Each subsequent splint is responsible for an accurate tooth shift, which is planned in advance thanks to the design and dimensions of each individual foil.
First splint
The initial application of the splint takes place in the Smile Clinic, as composite structures are placed on the teeth. These are important for therapy because they move the teeth in the right direction with the desired pressure. All other splints are changed by the patient himself, with clear and complete instructions given by our specialist on how to change them and how to keep them clean.
The duration of the therapy or how long the patient has to wear the transparent braces depends on the number of foils/splints. You will also receive all the necessary information about the course and treatment plan, which includes the number of visits for examination and control in the coming months. The usual check-up interval for Invisalign braces is about every 2 months.
Who is eligible for Invisalign?
Most people are eligible for Invisalign clear braces. Exceptions to this rule may include: Patients who smoke and cannot or do not want to stop smoking during treatment. Smoking can cause discoloration, smearing, and unsightly aligners. Also, patients with dental implants, bridges, or TMJ disorders may not be the best candidates for Invisalign clear braces. If your teeth are small, deformed, or eroded, Invisalign may not be a good solution for your needs either.
In general, teens over the age of 13 and adults are the best candidates for Invisalign treatment. One of the most important factors will be your willingness to wear the aligner consistently for at least 20 hours a day to get the best results in a timely manner.

Invisalign treatment types
This therapy is most often chosen by adults because it is very flexible and can also solve more complex orthodontic problems. Depending on the anomaly and the desired therapy, it includes between 20 and 30 splints and of course applies to both jaws. The Invisalign full therapy offers the possibility to make 3 additional splints if the therapy does not go according to plan and new impressions and photos have to be made (mid course correction). It is also possible to work with additional splints at the very end of the therapy (refinement).
As part of the Lite therapy, we treat minor orthodontic anomalies such as teeth that are too close together or too far apart, more for the purpose of aesthetic corrections. Invisalign Lite can be used on one or both jaws. Depending on the plan, the patient receives a maximum of 14 splints per jaw (28 in total). The therapy may include working with additional splints at the end of the therapy (refinement).
As the name suggests, Invisalign Teen is designed to correct abnormalities in children. Like full therapy, this therapy is intended for comprehensive problem solving, but with adaptations for children and adolescents. This also includes the production of additional splints if necessary (mid course correction and refinement).
With i7 orthodontic therapy, minor anomalies, small compressions and gaps are treated with a maximum of 7 splints for each jaw (14 in total). The splints are placed on the teeth from four on the left to four on the right of one or both jaws.
