Why Smile chose
Straumann Group
Choosing an implant is a long-term decision. We value Straumann’s Swiss heritage, documented implant technology and lifetime manufacturer’s warranty.
Straumann Pro Arch:
clinical excellence and education
Smile is one of only 12 Straumann Pro Arch Centers of Excellence worldwide and a Center of Dental Education.
Pro Arch recognition reflects experience in fixed full-arch implant rehabilitation. Diagnosis, surgery and the creation of the restoration are coordinated within one clinical plan.
Implant positions are planned around the fixed teeth they will support from the outset. Every decision starts with your anatomy, chewing function and the objectives agreed during your assessment.
As a Center of Dental Education, Smile also hosts training for fellow dentists. Dr Darko Slovša is a Straumann lecturer and shares his clinical experience through courses on planning, implant surgery and prosthetic treatment.

Straumann® implant technology: Roxolid® and SLActive®
For conventional implant treatment, Smile uses Straumann® systems exclusively. Roxolid® is a high-strength titanium–zirconium alloy, while SLActive® is a surface technology designed to support osseointegration during healing.
These two technologies work together in All-on-4/6 treatment, with a Straumann® lifetime warranty.
A history grounded in research
Straumann was founded in Switzerland in 1954 as a materials research institute. Its first dental implant dates from 1974.
Materials research and clinical studies have supported the development of Straumann’s implant systems over the years. This experience informed our choice: implants, surfaces and prosthetic components designed to work together, with their performance also assessed over the long term.
The foundation for your fixed teeth
The implant is the foundation for a crown, bridge or complete arch. Both its material and the components connecting it to the fixed teeth matter.
We use genuine Straumann Group components and provide documentation identifying the implants placed. These records give you and your clinicians a reference for future check-ups and treatment.
A lifetime warranty with clear terms
Straumann Group implants carry the manufacturer’s lifetime warranty. Where its conditions are met, the implant can be replaced with an equivalent product.
Prosthetic components and any additional treatment are subject to separate terms. Before treatment, we explain the cover, documentation and follow-up requirements, so you know whom to contact and what the warranty provides.
Clearly defined cover, so you know what is included and how to obtain assistance.
Treatment tailored
to your clinical needs
At your first consultation, we assess your clinical situation to identify the most appropriate implant treatment. Before starting, you receive a personalised plan clearly explaining the materials, stages, appointments, expected timing, costs and warranties.
Your restoration,
made in our own laboratory
Design, materials, production and checks are managed within the same clinic.
Our in-house CAD/CAM laboratory brings the clinical team and dental technicians together. We check shape, tooth contacts, shade and comfort on site, discussing adjustments with you as the work progresses. The team oversees materials and production at every stage: the temporary restoration, verification prototype and final restoration. Working together also helps us coordinate try-ins, appointments and production times.
Clear prices and a lifetime implant warranty
Before you begin, you will understand the proposed treatment, its stages, the number of appointments, the expected duration and the total cost.
After your consultation, you will receive a personalised quotation, with each item explained before treatment begins. Once you approve the plan, we schedule appointments so you know when to return and how long each stage is expected to take. Straumann Group implants carry a lifetime manufacturer’s warranty. We explain its conditions, the required follow-up visits and the separate cover for prosthetic components.

Frequently asked questions
Why has Smile chosen Straumann Group implants?
We chose Straumann Group for its integrated implant systems, with documented materials, surfaces and prosthetic components. The range we use includes Roxolid® alloy and SLActive® surface technology. We plan treatment around your anatomy, chewing function and future restoration. Before treatment begins, you receive a personalised plan explaining the stages, timescales, costs and warranties.
What warranty covers Straumann Group implants?
Straumann Group implants carry the manufacturer’s lifetime warranty under its official conditions. Where these are met, it covers replacement with an equivalent implant. It does not mean a lifelong guarantee of the clinical result. Prosthetic components, additional treatment and check-ups have separate terms. Before treatment, we explain what is covered, the documentation needed and the regular reviews required to maintain cover.
What does Pro Arch Center of Excellence status mean?
Smile is one of only 12 Straumann Pro Arch Centers of Excellence worldwide and holds Center of Dental Education status. This recognition reflects experience in fixed full-arch implant rehabilitation, connecting diagnosis, surgery and prosthetics. As a Straumann educator, Dr Darko Slovša takes part in dedicated training programmes for dentists on planning, implant surgery and prosthetic rehabilitation.
Are Roxolid® and SLActive® two different implants?
No. Roxolid® and SLActive® describe different features of an implant. Roxolid® is the titanium–zirconium alloy used for the implant body. SLActive® is a surface technology designed to support osseointegration, the process by which the implant integrates with the bone. We select the implant according to your clinical assessment and treatment plan.
How will I know which implant has been used?
You receive documentation identifying the implants and components used, so they can be recognised during future check-ups or treatment. Smile uses genuine Straumann Group components and provides traceability for its prosthetic work. We explain the materials used and which documents to keep for your records.
